“Doors are like book covers that need to be opened, for they hold the biggest lessons for the future.”<\/p>\n

This is the message that Marjan Samie wants to convey through her photo collection “Doors”, which was taken between 2014-2016 in Rasht, her hometown. She traveled there to revisit the old alleys and doors she had memories of from her childhood. She started to collect street photos as a diary in a hard disk, without any specific intention. Years later, after returning home, she looked at those photos again and realized they were like grayscale book covers, each hiding a tale behind them. She remembered the folklore stories of Gilan, the heroes, and Great Persia poets, that she had heard from the elders.<\/p>\n
